You Said, We Did – Listening to you

Your feedback in the first round of our consultation programme was invaluable. From the outset, we have been very keen on talking to the local community and understand local needs so we can maximise the benefits from our plans.

You said

You said you want a local environment that will improve air quality in this area.

We did

We are providing a range of new greenery including wildlife-friendly planting, green rooftops, new trees across the whole site, and opportunities for community gardening. These will promote biodiversity on the site and will clean up the air around it.

You said

You said you want a development that will be safe and will deter crime and antisocial behaviour.

We did

We have consulted the Metropolitan Police on how we can design the layout in a way that deters crime and anti-social behaviour. By increasing space for families and residents, we will increase natural surveillance on the site. We will look at lighting and CCTV cameras to ensure there are no dark or blind spots.

You said

You said you want high-quality affordable homes on the site so local people can benefit.

We did

Of the 620 – 650 new homes, 25% (by habitable room – subject to viability) will be affordable homes.

You said

You said you want high-quality public open spaces that are green.

We did

We are providing a new public square and children’s play area which will heavily feature greening and improve the natural experience of our plans.

You said

You said having a large Sainsbury’s store is important to you and for the local economy.

We did

The new and larger store will be built whilst the existing one remains open to ensure customers can always shop with us. We will continue providing local jobs for local people, whilst contributing to the local economy.
